Renata Size 312, Brown Tab, Mercury Free Zinc-Air batteries are a type of button cell that use oxygen in the air as a reactant. They have a very high capacity compared to their size. Each cell uses about a cubic centimeter of air per 10Ah discharge rate. The most common use for zinc-air batteries is in hearing aids. While the sealing tab is on the battery, it keeps the air out of the battery and gives the battery a 2-4 year shelf life. Once the tab is removed the electrolyte will dry out regardless of use and the battery will stop working (typically within a week or two). Free Standard Shipping* | Batteries.com
